poem on smoking

Put Down Your Cigarette Rag (Don't Smoke)

Smoking is not good for your health.

Please don't smoke. You could cause someone close to you to hurt, and if you don't think that anyone will care then you are wrong. Smoking could cause cancer, brain tumour and many others.
Here is a poem about smoking.

Don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke,
Don't smoke,

Smoking makes you cough,

You can't sing straight
You gargle on saliva
& vomit on your plate
Don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke,

Don't smoke smoke smoke smoke

You smoke in bed
You smoke on the hill
Smoke till you'r dead
You smoke in Hell
Don't smoke don't smoke in living Hell Dope Dope
Don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke

Don't see these pictures and start smoking

The harmful effects of smoking are:

Lung Cancer
Smoking accounts for about 80-90% of all chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, chronic mucus secretion, and chronic air flow blocks. Smoking is involved in 85% of all lung cancer deaths. An individual with chronic bronchitis, which is caused by smoking, is more likely to get a bacterial infection if he or she is a smoker. A smoker gets more nose and throat inflammations, respiratory infections, and chronic bronchitis.
Heart Disease
Cigarette smoking accounts for 30% of all heart disease deaths. The carbon monoxide in the cigarette smoke increases the amount of cholesterol clogging the arteries. Smoking causes stiffness in the walls of the arteries, which are, is harmful to the artery and increases the risk for the artery to rupture. The nicotine in cigarettes can raise your blood pressure, heart rate, and the oxygen demand for muscles, especially the heart. A coronary spasm may occur during smoking, which may lead to chest pain, and a heart attack. Blood clots more readily in smokers than in nonsmokers.
Cancers
Cigarette Smoking is the major cause of cancer of the lips, tongue, salivary glands, mouth, and esophagus. The development of stomach cancer can be directly associated with smoking. Smoking is known to cause bladder cancer. Quitting smoking will not result in a significant reduction in the risk of getting bladder cancer. A strong association exists between smoking and leukemia. Women who smoke are at an increased risk of osteoporosis.
Second Hand Smoking
Second Hand smoking can also be harmful. When a nonsmoker marries a smoker, the risk of getting lung cancer or heart disease doubled. Infants and children have tender tissues and are more susceptible to second hand smoke. Many develop cancers when they get older.

  • Smoking KILLS

  • Every year hundreds of thousands of people around the world die from diseases caused by smoking.

  • One in two lifetime smokers will die from their habit. Half of these deaths will occur in middle age.

  • Tobacco smoke also contributes to a number of cancers.

  • The mixture of nicotine and carbon monoxide in each cigarette you smoke temporarily increases your heart rate and blood pressure, straining your heart and blood vessels.

  • This can cause heart attacks and stroke. It slows your blood flow, cutting off oxygen to your feet and hands. Some smokers end up having their limbs

  • Smoking causes disease and is a slow way to die. The strain put on your body by smoking often causes years of suffering. Emphysema is an illness that slowly rots your lungs. People with emphysema often get bronchitis again and again, and suffer lung and heart failure.

  • Lung cancer from smoking is caused by the tar in tobacco smoke. Men who smoke are ten times more likely to die from lung cancer than non-smokers.

  • Heart disease and strokes are also more common among smokers than non-smokers.

  • Smoking causes fat deposits to narrow and block blood vessels which leads to heart attack.

  • Smoking causes around one in five deaths from heart disease.

  • In younger people, three out of four deaths from heart disease are due to smoking.

  • Heart Disease and Stroke: Every time a person smokes, his/her heart rate increases temporarily due to the smoke that contains a mixture of carbon monoxide and nicotine. It results in straining the heart and blood vessels, leading to high blood pressure or hypertension. Smoking also causes fat deposition in the blood vessels and narrows them, causing heart attack and stroke. There are also cases of paralysis of feet and hands due to reduced blood supply and lack of oxygen in those parts of the body. About 30% of the deaths from heart disease are due to smoking.
  • Cancer: Smoking can cause different types of cancer including lung, throat, stomach, and bladder cancer. Overall, 30% cases of cancer and 87% percent of lung cancer are due to smoking. Lung cancer is caused due to the tar (a thick sticky substance) in the tobacco smoke. It is found out that male smokers have 10 times more chances of getting lung cancer, than the non-smoking male population.

cigar

A cigar is generally puffed, not inhaled. Cigars come in many shapes and sizes, the most common being the "Corona", "Cigarillo", and "Robusto". The tobacco used is grown throughout the Caribbean in places such as the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras, Jamaica, and Cuba, but also in countries in other regions such as the Philippines, Brazil and Indonesia. Cigars generally come available in 2 categories in reference to color, "Natural" and "Maduro". "Natural" shades are ones that do not undergo a further fermenting process, unlike "Maduro" which in its construction involves a further fermenting process to darken and strengthen (in taste) the leaf.

Cigarette

Cigarette smoking is the most common form of tobacco consumption. Because of the curing process, the smoke is relatively mild, unlike cigar, roll-your-own or pipe tobacco. Cigarettes also contain a number of additives, particularly to enhance taste. Cigarettes are smoked by some with a cigarette holder. (See also Beedi).
The cigarette is the most common method of smoking tobacco

Tobacco smoking is the inhalation of smoke from burned dried or cured leaves of the tobacco plant, most often in the form of a cigarette. People may smoke casually for pleasure, habitually to satisfy an addiction to the nicotine present in tobacco and to the act of smoking, or in response to social pressure. In some societies, people smoke for ritualisticpurposes. According to the WHO about one-third of the world's male population smokes tobacco.Tobacco use by Native Americans throughout North and South America dates back to 2000 BC.
